The Honorable Richard C. Noren, a Superior Court judge since 1981, died on February 5, 1989.
Born in Putnam, Judge Noren was a lifetime resident of Woodstock.
He was a graduate of Woodstock Academy, Harvard University and George Washington University Law School.
He was admitted to the Connecticut Bar in 1966 and became a clerk of the Common Pleas and Superior Court in Putnam in 1971. He also served with the Judge Advocate General Corps during a tour of duty with the United States Navy. He was appointed to the bench as a judge of the Superior Court in 1981.
Judge Noren was active in many professional organizations, including the Harvard Club, the Connecticut Judges Association, the American Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association and the Windham County Bar Association.
He is survived by a brother, Edward C. Noren; a sister, Beverly Stahlik; and several nieces and nephews.
